In the third quarter of 2012, Apple managed to sell as many as 26 million iPhones. That number increased by 28 percent over the same quarter last year. In addition, they also managed to sell the iPad as many as 17 million units in this period.
“We were very surprised by record sales of iPad many as 17 million units in the June quarter,” said Apple CEO “Tim Cook” as reported by Venture Beat. On a similar occasion, “Cook” seems reluctant to look on iPhone sales. This is because previously many analysts predicted that Apple would be able to sell more than 30 million units.
At the same time, “Cook” also implicitly states that his company is now developing iPhone 5. He also called it ‘the amazing product’.
Of the 26 million unit sales of the iPhone, Apple managed to earn as much as 35 billion USD and a net profit of 8 billion USD.
However, the number is far less likely when compared with their biggest competitor, Samsung. Samsung announced that it has sold more than 10 million units of Samsung Galaxy S III in just over 2 months. Of course that’s not including another Android phone series.
