Intel Introduced Intel Extreme Edition i7-3970X, The Latest Processor Based Sandy Bridge At Speeds Of Up To 4GHz

Intel is reportedly preparing a successor of processors i7-3960X Extreme Edition, the “i7-3970X” Extreme Edition. And unfortunately, the new output processor is not going to use the design of Ivy Bridge and still wear based architecture Sandy Bridge.

The new processors will have six cores, 12-thread design and a 15 MB L3 cache. This processor has a TDP of 150 Watts and comes with an unlocked multiplier that provides the ease of overclocking.


And, the most striking difference between the processor Extreme Edition with its predecessor is a matter of speed. If i7-3960X has a speed of 3.3GHz and 3.9GHz turbo mode, the new processor i7-3970X comes with a speed of 3.5GHz to 4GHz turbo mode. Regarding prices, the possibility of the processor is sold at high prices, which is about $ 1,000 USD. Regarding the launch of this processor, the Intel still does not give a statement. However, many pundits speculated that this processor will be found on the market in the 4th quarter of 2012.
